This is an update on my last situation on high iowait times on my linux RedHat EN 3 Server. Needless to say even though the change i describe on this article worked in my case , with my specific hardware ... its not a bullet proof solution since i know IOWAIT problems vary a lot in relation to hardware, but it may help.

I thought it was needed for me to post an update on my last situation with high iowait times, like the image on this blog , i think i can say ... its solved! The server under question has been working like a charm, yes! like a charm, there are around 140 domains now, and the load times and on average 0.2 - 0.3 , swapping is minimum and the iowait times hardly go above 40%.

The server has been running the same cron jobs, psadump backups of around 9GB , and then internal backup uploads to a neighbor server of over 10GB ... i mean, intensive disk operations, and all good!

Check my las blog about this situation, i really recommend the kernell upgrade on RedHat Linux EN 3 , worth it. Now i can go home in peace, and watch the Season 3 of six feet under that i ordered from Amazon.com ;)
